ABOUT THE STICKS FOR KIDS PROGRAM

The future of the game of golf in the United States depends on our youth learning and respecting the game. At the park district, we take our responsibility to teach beginners of all ages seriously, and we strive to provide the tools and opportunities necessary to allow as many junior golfers as possible to enjoy the game.

Since its establishment, the GCBAA Foundation (see their video below) has taken special interest in supporting children by launching Sticks for Kids, a junior golf outreach program for youth ages 5-18. The program provides each course that sponsors a Sticks for Kids program with clubs that kids can use for free.

In our park district golf programs, friendly, caring and knowledgeable instructors teach the fundamentals of the game, and important life lessons such as etiquette, integrity, sportsmanship, and safety, as well as respect for yourself and others on and off the course.

The park district is proud to support the Sticks For Kids program at our Lake Park Golf Course.
