UPDATED COOK COUNTY MANDATE INFORMATION

The Des Plaines Park District takes the health and safety of its employees and patrons very seriously and will continue to ensure we navigate through COVID-19 successfully.  The Des Plaines Park District has kept many of its facilities and programs running throughout these difficult times, including the successful opening the Prairie Lakes Aquatic Center. Our staff have been top notch in making sure there is an outlet for wellness, indoors and outdoors for the residents of Des Plaines for the past 21+ months.  This recent mandate by Cook County is a challenging for staff at all levels and each are doing their best to make sure our residents are safe within our programs and facilities. We look to respect the views of those that are vaccinated and not vaccinated and find ways to provide opportunities for all. This of course is not easy but our staff continues to be innovative and flexible when new guidelines or mandates are released by the State of Illinois. The hope for the future is both the State and County provide us with guidelines that allow us to provide our services to each residents no matter their vaccination status.  We thank all the Des Plaines Residents for supporting their Park District.
